Evaluation Report, Lang Center for Civic and Social Responsibility, Swarthmore College

It has been an honor to serve as external evaluator for the extraordinary Lang Opportunity Scholarship program and two of the Lang Center’s pilot programs, Civic Scholars and the Lang Social Impact Fellowship. My evaluation was grounded in multiple frames of reference, including current and projected trends in higher education, the demographics of future college students, and principles of best practice in community engagement. My report synthesized the data collected from a wide variety of sources, identified strengths and challenges across the programs, and offered actionable recommendations to enhance student learning while deepening positive community and social impact.
